Pegavision Corporation (“Pegavision”) made a major announcement that on December 16, 2024 it received TIPO’s notice regarding its invention patent, No. I671361, titled “Hydrogel Composition and Hydrogel Contact Lenses made of the Composition” being challenged by an invalidation action seeking revocation of the said patent. Pegavision had also found earlier that Vizionfocus Inc. (hereafter “Vizionfocus”) was suspected of infringing upon its invention patent by the contact lenses Vizionfocus made under the brand name, “ReVIA”. In order to prevent further infringement upon its patent, Pegavision filed a patent infringement lawsuit with the IPC Court against Vizionfocus on December 16, 2024, alleging that multiple products made and sold by Vizionfocus fall into the scope of claims of the said patent and thereby violates its patent rights.
Vizionfocus made a response that after thorough internal investigation and legal consultation, Vizionfocus confirm that it has developed the contact lenses identified by Pegavision based on prior art and its own patented inventions, and that it has been consistently complying with relevant patent-related regulations throughout the manufacture and sales process. Vizionfocus further asserted that all its product designs and technological innovations have undergone strict patent search and legal review, and thus do not infringe upon any third party’s patent rights.
