Taiwan National Science and Technology Council’s Taiwan Chip-Driven Industrial Innovation Program to launch in 2024

 On November 2, 2023, National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) delivered a presentation at the weekly Cabinet meeting on the “Taiwan Chip-Driven Industrial Innovation Program”, drafted by the NSTC in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Ministry of Digital Affairs, and National Development Council.  This program will have a total budget of TWD300 billion for its implementation throughout ten years (from 2024 through 2033), and its first phase will last for five years beginning from 2024 with an initial budget of TWD12 billion in 2024.

 This program focuses on four main strategies of combining and synthesizing generative artificial intelligence and chips to spur industrial breakthrough innovation, improving the environment for domestic talent cultivation, accelerating the development of heterogeneous integration and advanced technologies necessary for industrial innovation, and attracting international startups and investment, so as to pave the way for Taiwan’s tech industry of tomorrow, fortify the innovative capacity for breakthrough innovation of all industries, lay the foundation for Taiwan’s technological strength, and prove to be the important role worldwide in promoting chips design.  (Released 2023.11.02)
